NUTTZO DREAM TEAM

If you are tired of me writing and posting about NuttZo, then I suggest you close this post, because that is what this is all about! Sorry...I am not sorry! Last week after working for NuttZo for almost 5 years, I FINALLY MET THE TEAM IN PERSON! And I FINALLY attended the well-known Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, CA, where over 90K attended this year. It is the ultimate trade show for all natural, healthy, and organic products. It is craziness, but in a good way. It is non-stop moving, talking, tasting, and hustling. I was joking with my Mom that I have never talked so much in my life. But it was an experience and one that I am glad that I was a part of, because we NAILED IT!

NUTTZO TEAM 2019

I have been trying for years to get to NuttZo events, but stuff has always come up, but this year it all came together and it all came together on my birthday. Did you also know that my birthday is on #nationalwomensday? It seemed appropriate that I was not only celebrating my awesomeness, but I was celebrating with a group of badass women. The NuttZo Team is run by WOMEN! It felt so good to finally meet them and work with them and most importantly get to know them.

We all worked hard.

We were on our feet over 8 hours each day.

We were just doing our thing as a TEAM.

NUTTZO KET BUTTER

There are a lot of very cool things happening with the brand and I am grateful to be apart of it...to watch it grow...to help it grow...and to just make this happen, because it is happening. But there is no reason to go into detail about this, because you can all watch it unfold on my social media channels and you can follow NuttZo too. And this NEW Keto Nut Butter that is coming later this Spring is decadent, delicious, and smells like tropical paradise. B O O M!!!

NUTTZO KETO BUTTER

Besides unveiling the new product and working with the team, I REALLY enjoyed meeting the brands, influencers, and friends who I have been communicating with for weeks, months, and even years. It was so nice to finally be able to talk to the faces behind the Instagram and emails and have a REAL conversation. There were lots of hugs (I am a hugger), laughter, and fun conversations. It is amazing how much we know about each other through technology, but actually being able to look someone in the eye and just be in the moment is so much more special.

I LOVE this community as they are my people! It is my job and I am grateful to be surrounded by so many inspiring, hard working, dedicated, and professional men and women who I love supporting and who support me. This space is hard as hell sometimes and can really knock me on my ass, but knowing that they have my back is a pretty powerful feeling. My social media family ROCKS!

And what better way to end the trip than a delicious dinner with the NuttZo Team! I think we were all talked out and slightly delirious, but it was so nice to be surrounded by them and to eat a delicious dinner and celebrate the success of the expo and me turning 40. Still not sure how I feel when I say that number out loud.

NUTTZO BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Thank you for all the text messages, phone calls, social media LOVE! And thank you to ALL the people who came up to me at the event to wish me lots of birthday wishes! I truly felt special and loved and it was just what I needed to keep me energized and motivated to make this event a success. #THISIS40

CELEBRATING 1-YEAR IN CHARLESTON

I cannot even believe that it has been ONE YEAR since I moved to Charleston. It has been one of the fastest years thus far in ALL of the places that I have lived and it is probably because I feel beyond blessed and happy for everything that has happened over these 365 days. I definitely have to pinch myself sometimes, because life in the Lowcountry is pretty darn good.

CELEBRATING 1-YEAR IN CHARLESTON

“I began to realize how important it was to be an enthusiast in life. If you are interested in something, no matter what it is, go at it full speed. Embrace it with both arms, hug it, love it, and above all become passionate about it. Lukewarm is no good” - Roald Dahl

A sucker for quotes, this one jumped right out to me, when I started to write about this past year, because it is so unbelievably true. Life is short, so why go at it half-assed. Why not go big? And go BIG with work, relationships, and YOU. When you are happy, being passionate about life comes naturally. It is almost like it seeps out of your pores and that crazy energy is contagious. You attract the right people; the right projects; you start evolving into your crazy amazing self!!! How freaking cool is that?

Obviously, there have been some not so pretty moments...Moments where I have failed...Been rejected, scared, unsure, and hit some speed bumps, but this is life, and I try to be REAL and honest in this space. I am still growing...learning...striving to be the best version of me. I am still figuring it all out and that is OKAY! The best part of this new chapter is that I am not doing it alone.

MY TRIBE - I have met some amazing women down here, who I have worked with and have also become very close friends with. They are teachers, entrepreneurs, dreamers, and supporters of my vision and dreams. It is not easy to make friends as you get older. It is hard to put yourself out there when we are kind of set in our ways, but for the first time I have put myself out there and it has helped me connect with a solid tribe. These women have helped build my brand; my relationships; and my overall well being. The past couple of months, I have made that conscious effort to get out and connect with other like-minded women to help build my presence in this community and I am wondering what took me so long to do it. Again...living and learning!

CELEBRATING 1-YEAR IN CHARLESTON

MY PARTNER IN CRIME - I will eventually share this story because it is a good one and it is another anniversary that is approaching fast as well! Shannon is an amazing man and I am one happy and lucky lady to have met him. He’s hardworking, real, honest, kind-hearted, and yes very good looking. He has kept me on my toes. He helps me stay grounded. He motivates me. I feel safe in his arms and whenever I am with him and that is something I have not felt in a really long time.  It has been one amazing journey to where we are and I would not change any of it. Is that cheesy enough for you? BOOM!

CELEBRATING 1-YEAR IN CHARLESTON

My BUSINESS - I am a busy woman! I am currently managing 4 different social media accounts and YES it is a lot of work...YES it is time-consuming...YES it can drive me bat crazy...but at the end of the day, I LOVE the companies that I work for and the people I have connected with. I enjoy being the voice behind other brands. I enjoy creating and inspiring and helping these businesses grow because I LOVE their products.

When it comes to my own personal brand, this is a little bit harder and is taking more time. I sometimes worry that a “Fitness and Lifestyle Influencer” has become saturated. I am by no means giving up, it at times gets extremely frustrating. But like I have said, I am just going to keep on trucking. I am going to write, create, and share with all of you the things that I love, inspire me, and continue to introduce you to my tribe! I have also made it a goal to start educating myself and truly learn how to build my brand, by joining supportive communities who specialize in this. It is time to be a little selfish and do it.

My VISION - I am going to keep it simple as I move forward into this next year down here in South Carolina. I am not going to set any goals, I am just going to do ME. There is definitely a list of things to do and things I want to do, but I am not putting any pressure on when they get done. When time flies this fast, I am finding I just have to take it one step at a time. Who knows what this coming year will bring. I think I am ready for it, but who the hell knows what will happen. Good vibes ONLY!

THIS IS 39

“When you look back at your past, look tenderly and gently at all you have been through. Look with the eyes of the soul. See that each experience was necessary to bring you home to your heart” - Melody Beattie

I cannot believe I am 39 years old today!?!?! How the heck did that happen? How am I one year away from 40? Where is time going? Can someone please press a pause button, because time is going by too fast!!! Seriously...Where did this year GO???

As I look back on this past year, I can HONESTLY say that I finally do feel at home, after many years of searching, traveling, and feeling like I was living that gypsy life. I am ready to stay put! I feel 100% in LOVE with my life, my relationships, and my work. The road to this place has not been easy and it is still not easy...it is called LIFE. I have hit a lot of speed bumps, but I have learned a lot. I have opened myself up more than I have ever before. I am living authentically. I am being honest and true to myself and to those who I love.

What is in store for this year?

I am not setting any goals...I am going to go into this year and continue to do what I am doing. I am going to hustle. I am not going to give up on making this brand HAPPEN. I will continue to push my body, listen to my body, and do the things that make my body look the way I want it to look. I will continue to nourish my body, but also make sure I enjoy wine, buttery scones, and lots of delicious burgers and fries. I am going to just be and do ME. Like I have said, again and again, you are going to see the good moments and the not so pretty ones because this is real. Hell yeah, I get scared about putting myself out there, talking about my relationships, my struggles, my accomplishments. But what I have learned through blogging and social media is that I have made some pretty amazing connections, friendships, and I have learned a lot.

This is 39

So before things get too mushy here...Today I am treating myself to all the things I love, doing the things I love, enjoying time with the people I love and celebrating making it through another year of life. Better with age...Just like a fine wine!

I wanted to give a gift to ALL of you as a thank you for your support, love, friendship, comments, and for following me on this journey. And YESit is a workout, because what else would you expect from me?!?!?! I absolutely LOVE this one, because just like the title says, it gets the job DONE. You should most definitely print this workout out and put it on your fridge...put it in your gym bag...leave it on the treadmill and tackle it whenever you feel the need to move your body.

I created this workout when I was stuck inside during a snowstorm. I, of course, was antsy from doing nothing and wanted to move and sweat. BOOM...the “Get It Done Workout” was created. It is quick, efficient, effective, and targets every muscle in your beautiful body. It works on strength, endurance, and gets your heart rate up to burn fat and calories. And the best part is it requires no equipment and can be done ANYWHERE. No excuses my fabulous friends.

15 Minute "GET IT DONE" Work Out

I am grateful for ALL of you and want you to join me as I tackle 39 and everything that this year is going to bring me. Now it is time to enjoy my birthday...To have some FUN...And keep on hustling!!!

xoxo

Love At First Sight - The Best Match

Life on Nantucket during the winter months can definitely be a little lonely. It is grey, cold, and QUIET. I definitely could not live here if it was not for my amazing friends, but little Lucy has a VERY big part in keeping me sane too! She is with me all the time. She lies by my side while I work. She runs by my side while we walk. She sleeps by the bed and snores like a champ. She is the perfect match for my personality, my lifestyle, and me!

She was rescued in Houston, where she was left on the side of the highway in a kennel with her two other siblings covered in fleas. It took days for her to venture out of that kennel. After I lost Kala, I started looking for a purebred Golden Retriever just a few weeks later, but I could not justify spending over a thousand dollars for a dog, when there were thousands of dogs without homes. So instead I started searching the rescues for golden retriever puppies. I found a picture of “Custard” and started contact with the foster mom. Once I agreed to meet the foster mom and “Custard”, I knew I was not going home alone. Just like everything else in life, when it is meant to be, it is meant to be - no matter how cliché that sounds, it is the darn truth!

It was love at first sight and “Custard” would be named Lucy and she came home with me a week later. And her two siblings were also rescued. One went to New Orleans and the other went to live on a apple orchard farm in Rhode Island. Knowing that all 3 of them found such healthy, happy, and safe environments is just BEAUTIFUL!

Lucy means so much to me and it is really hard to imagine life without her! All those corny quotes about dogs are the TRUTH. She teaches me to be a better person. She makes and reminds me to laugh daily. She reminds me to live life to the fullest and to just keep it simple…LIVE, LOVE, and of course EAT!

She is in doggie heaven here on Nantucket Island, along with the rest of amazing dogs that live here. They truly do live a fabulous life here! So when I was asked to team up with Z Living to help promote their newest show Finding Fido , it was a no brainer.

Finding Fido (premiering January 17th at 9pm ET) is all about matchmaking—only instead of human couples, host Seth Casteel is pairing people with pooches. Each week one lucky dog finds their forever home, and one lucky person finds their new best friend. You can see more about the show here.

In addition to being an awesome show that we’re super excited about, there is also an amazing campaign created by Finding Fido to help support animal shelters and rescue groups.

Z Living has joined forces with A Greater Good and Halo, Purely for Pets® to launch the #FindingFido program. Z Living will be giving away a series of cash grants plus pet food to shelters and pet adoption organizations in need across the U.S..

Share a photo of you and your pooch on your favorite social channel and tag it with #FindingFido, for every hashtagged post Z Living will give an additional $1.

Have a shelter you think should be considered for a grant? Tag them in your post and they’ll automatically be in the running to receive one of several $500 cash grants given away weekly + $6000 worth of Halo pet food donated to shelters in need leading up to the premiere of Finding Fido on January 17th at 9pm.

Now go give your pet a big SMOOCH and tell them how much you love them! XOXO
