A Seasonal SHIFT In September

It seems appropriate that I transitioned into September and a new season on Nantucket, because where else would I feel all the feels, do the heart, soul, and body work, and take some time to transition into the new season? And not to exaggerate, it felt like once August closed on Nantucket and we welcomed September, there was a whole NEW vibe and I loved every second of it. I talk about September on Nantucket HERE. Those two weeks on the island truly gave me time to do some more WORK on myself and think about what I want for the new season.

Sometimes I may sound like a broken record, when I talk about my journey, but I think it is important to talk about it whether it is repetitive or not, because our lives are not a straight line, our lives have ups and downs. But when I do the work and I stay consistent I know how to handle the speed bumps that come along, how to stay more grounded, healthier, and happier. And each month and each season always brings on new challenges and changes, so learning how to navigate that is huge and truly rewarding. It’s a combination of so many things, but I like to keep it simple and it is something that I have worked on with my Life Coach. The main focus is RADICAL CHANGES, but broken down into just a few things. Keep things simple…Pick a few things to focus on…Do the work and make it happen!

Here are THREE things that I am working on as we make that seasonal shift into Fall:

BREAK OLD PATTERNS

I am such a creature of habit, who loves a schedule, who loves to have a plan, who can get stuck in some good and bad patterns. And have I mentioned that I am stubborn as hell and really have a hard time with change, BUT I have been working hard on changing that and becoming less rigid when it comes to not only emotional things, but also with food and fitness, because y’all it’s all connected.

My Nantucket trips always seem to present themselves to me when I need to break the pattern. I am beyond grateful that I can go there to see family, to fill up my heart and soul, but also break old patterns and habits. A lot of things become clear to me when I am there. I heal a lot of things, so I am grateful for that place and space. And the seasonal shift this time was even more powerful and clear, so I truly soaked all the lessons up like a sponge.

And I also notice that when I come home to Charleston, I quickly can go back into my old patterns. BUT…Nantucket has shown that I can break the patterns, so guess what, if I can do it there, I can do it anywhere. So with the seasonal shift a few small things that I am working on to change it up and break the old patterns…

  • Eat more VARIETY foods;

  • Cut back on the exercise;

  • STOP living small;

  • GET OFF the hamster wheel when the negative thoughts and worries arise;

  • Speak my TRUTH unapologetically…stop holding it in!

STOP WORRYING AND LIVE YOUR LIFE

I worry a lot and they can be small things . Oh look it’s that word again…CONTROL! Worrying is a big word, trigger, “thing” for me and one that I discussed with my Life Coach, because worrying is exhausting, an energy vampire, and is holding me back to live my purpose. It’s one of the RADICAL CHANGES that I am working on daily.

How am I doing this? WORK WORK WORK!

I am trying to give ZERO FUCKS and live big, free, and happy every damn day! It is a slow process, but it is happening. It is small daily steps that are helping me achieve this. I am working on shining daily, finding the blessings in the big and small things, to trust, to love fully, to own my life, to be clear about the life I want to live! This list keeps going, but these are daily reminders that I continue to work on, because I am learning a new way to stop worrying, to find self confidence, to stop playing small, to break free and BE ME!

And I know that once I let go and live my life, that it is going to be a whole different life! I can feel it and I can see it and I know that I am so close. The recent call with my Life Coach, the two weeks on Nantucket, and feeling the seasonal shift has really ignited something magical inside of me.

LISTEN TO YOUR BODY/EAT SEASONALLY

When we listen to our bodies and feed it what it needs and wants, well the game totally changes! Does this take time, patience, and work? Of course it does, but it is worth it, because you are worth it. Our bodies are so smart, yet in today’s society we are told and sold products that are filled with chemicals, sugar, salt, that are basically poisoning us. There is a reason why you feel like CRAP when you eat these foods, so STOP doing it! Our bodies are so smart and when we feed it properly with the good stuff, well I believe that our bodies reward us with positive energy, strength, and overall happiness. How cool is that?

As we transition into the Fall months, it’s a big shift and it’s the precursor for preparing our bodies for the winter months. There is still a lot of summer produce that we can eat this month…I’m eating up all the last peaches possible.

Here is a delicious, easy, and healthy September recipe to whip up this week…Of course, I added some Ameo Life Silver Solution into the mix, because can we take a moment to remember all the benefits that this product has to offer!!! Just a couple of tablespoons and you are good to go!

  • Supports a healthy digestive system;

  • Naturally cleanses the gut;

  • Supports our immunity system!

PROTEIN OVERNIGHT FIG OATS

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 c of quick oats

  • 1 scoop of protein of choice (I used chocolate Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein Powder)

  • 1 T of chia seeds

  • 2x T of Ameo Life Silver Solution

  • Water or Milk of choice (3/4 c to 1 c)

  • Drizzle of honey

  • 2x diced figs

Directions:

  1. Throw the oats, protein, chia seeds, Ameo Life Silver Solution, and water or milk of choice into a jar or container with a lid;

  2. Shake it up until everything is well blended. Add more liquid if necessary;

  3. Store in the fridge overnight;

  4. Add diced figs and any other toppings that you fancy (honey, nut butter, walnuts);

  5. ENJOY!

All needed as we feel the effects of the seasonal shift! So let’s make something good! I LOVE this recipe, because it’s easy, simple, healthy, and obviously delicious. Make it the night before, so you can grab and go the next day or you can just have it when you need it, if you don’t feel like making something while working from home.

I hope that YOU have been having a beautiful September and that you have felt the seasonal shift in a positive and healthy way!

xoxo
