GIRLS Weekend
This photo pretty much sums up this past weekend on Nantucket!
When your best friend comes to visit you 30 miles out at sea, you whoop it up BIG TIME! This past weekend was filled with lots of food, booze, laughter, swims, and living in the moment and enjoying this amazing island! We ROCKED it and we had an absolute blast reconnecting, reminiscing, relaxing, and most importantly DISCONNECTING! I did a little work on Saturday morning, but after that there was no posting, sharing, liking and gosh darn it felt good. It felt good to not be connected and to be constantly checking my phone for updates. It felt good to take a social media break. It felt good to only be checking my phone for text messages from the boys we met. High-Fives!
Saturday afternoon was spent out on the boat and soaking up the sunshine, the views, and the water! We were in our bathing suits for hours until we came home to BBQ and head out on the town. The only time we weren't laughing was when we were at one of the restaurants drinking wine at the bar and a man looked at us and told us to move because we were blocking his wife's view...LOL!!! We were actually flabbergasted and walked away speechless...did that just happen? Oh the sense of entitlement!
We ate lots of burgers, ice cream, and chips and guacamole! We drank all the wine! There were NO RULES this weekend. There was no working out. There was just lots of fun in the sun! We spent so much time outside on the deck in our towels, covered in sand, salt, and sweat. listening to hours of country music.
I wonder how many hours we spent in our beach towels? We cooked in our towels, we drank in our towels, we walked to the beach in our towels for many swims with Lucy. We may have had a dance party in our towels. It is summer and that is what you are supposed to do!
The flowers on Nantucket are in full bloom and they are so beautiful! I even had a flower in my bubbly on Sunday afternoon at brunch. Who knew that a hibiscus flower in a cocktail could taste so good.
Car rides to and from the town were always comical! There was seriously never a dull moment on this weekend trip, except when Monday morning rolled around and my friend had to leave and we spent a good portion of the morning recovering from all the shennanigans.
It was AWESOME...all of it! I have no regrets! We lived in the moment...We had fun...We made the most of every situation...We laughed at ourselves...We laughed at the silly people who think they are so important...We just had FUN! I cannot wait for her to come back in September so that we can do it ALL over again! Love you girl and thanks for making this past weekend a knock your socks off FUN adventure! XOXO
