Baking Steel Mini-Griddle

Switching gears this week to talk about a NEW collaboration and a NEW product that y’all need to invest it! I am so excited to be working with Baking Steel to spread the word about his products, but also share healthy, nourishing, simple, easy, delicious recipes that you can whip up in minutes. I will also be talking about the importance of protein and why you need it, why I need it, and why it is important to include in your daily intake.

So let’s talk more about the mini-griddle. Let me just tell you how much I love this mini-griddle. It is so freaking GOOD and it’s the perfect size for me, my lifestyle, and my cooking needs. It easily cooks my three eggs and I was even more thrilled when I used it to cook a burger and could add some toppings as well. I could have really loaded up that griddle, but will do it next time for another burger night. YUM! The cooking possibilities on this griddle are endless and I cannot wait to try more and share more with y’all! So stay tuned, more deliciousness will be coming into your inbox.

Now let’s also talk about PROTEIN for a hot minute, because you will see me cooking a lot of protein on this mini-griddle, so it truly comes all together. Protein for myself these days is SUPER important, especially with my active lifestyle and that I just turned 45 earlier this month. I train hard and I do ALL THE THINGS…If I am not working, you will find me running, strength training, practicing yoga, or walking my rescue pups on the beach. As I get older I need protein to help maintain my lifestyle, but also constantly nourish my muscles, bones, organs, and overall well-being. 

A lot of people are amazed with how much meat I can eat, but I crave it, I love it, and it works for me, my body, and my lifestyle. Plus, meat is so versatiles, so cooking with it is easy and I like simple and easy recipes when it comes to cooking. Like this burger bowl…The possibilities are endless. It is beyond easy and basic and sometimes this is exactly what kind of bowl I want. Other nights, I will really load  it up with all the toppings, but this one worked just fine. Maybe next time I will show y’all how I really jazz it up! How would y’all feel about that? Let’s DO IT!!!

Basic Burger Bowl

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 c of Jasmine rice

  • 1 Old Fashioned burger patty from @wholefoods 

  • 1 large sliced onion

  • handful of diced cherry tomatoes

  • optional toppings - avocado, pickles, chopped spinach, salsa, hot sauce…YOU DO YOU!

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Fire up your mini-griddle;

  2. Let it heat up for 5 plus minutes at medium-low heat;

  3. Add the onions and flip after 3-4 minutes;

  4. Add the burger and cook to your liking;

  5. Add Jasmine rice and your toppings;

  6. ENJOY!

Savory Protein Oats

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2-3 fried eggs

  • diced mushrooms

  • handful of spinach

  • 1/2 cup oats

  • 1/2 avocado

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Heat up the oatmeal in microwave (I typically do 2 minutes & add more water and cook 1 more minute);

  2. Saute the mushrooms and season accordingly (I like to use red pepper flakes and garlic powder);

  3. Fry up your eggs on the mini-griddle;

  4. Add everything to your bowl (I love avocado, hot sauce, and even jam as toppings!);

  5. Enjoy!
