Morning Routine Essentials

Mornings are my JAM and I love talking about what a typical morning routine looks like and what are my essentials during those beautiful early hours as I start a fresh new day! My routine has been the same for a while, but I have made some small changes that have made a BIGGER and BETTER change to my overall day. These small changes have come with doing work with my health and my overall mental emotional well being. My mornings set me up for a solid day of work and training and also for those unexpected hiccups that may try to throw me off guard. Obviously not ALL mornings and unicorns and cupcakes, but I always make sure to wake up with a grateful heart and to live the day to its fullest, no matter what is happening around me.

I typically wake up now between 5:00 - 6:00 AM and then it’s GO time…so join me on what a morning routine looks like and what it includes!

WATER AND AMEO LIFE PROBIOTIC

I now take my Ameo Life Probiotic twice a day. Once upon waking with LOTS of water and once after dinner! I swear by these probiotics and how much they have helped with my gut health and overall health and well being. It has been a game changer on my healing journey and I cannot imagine not taking them.

I talk more about why I take Ameo Life Probiotics HERE!

COFFEE

ALWAYS…I love coffee…I love the routine of making it in the morning…I love the taste of it…And I love my Nespresso frother (PS - Shannon got this for me, when I helped him do some plumbing work. Lots of perks to working with him…LOL) to make it extra fancy. I will never give up coffee. I love it that much and it’s part of my morning routine. Have I said LOVE enough?

WORK

I try to tackle two hours of work before I head out for my workout…YES, I am up that early, but honestly, I love it. I feel so productive at this time. No one else is really awake, it is quiet, and typically it’s just Lucy by my side, the birds starting to chirp, and it is the perfect time to write, create, plan, and do all the things, before the rest of the world wakes up.

PRE WORKOUT SNACK

It’s amazing to me how I was functioning, training, and living over a year ago day in and day out, with such few calories. But NOW, I wake up, have my coffee, water, and a pre-workout snack, because my stomach is hungry and ready to go. I feel so much more energized, stronger, happier, and just making simple changes to my daily routine have helped make BIG changes in my overall life. GO ME! Typically I eat some sort of protein bar a half hour before training, or a banana, depending on what I plan on doing.

WORKOUT

Summer is HERE in Charleston and I LOVE it! A lot of people aren’t fans of the heat and humidity, but I thrive off of it. Not having to worry about wearing gloves, a hat, and long pants, but rather just being able to put on shorts and a sports bra and just GO…works for me! And there is nothing more satisfying than finishing a workout in summer drenched in sweat. That makes me happy and that makes me just feel damn GOOD!

I am still doing a healthy mix of yoga and strength training, but running is calling to me these days and I am listening to my body and doing it. It feels so good, plus it also helps that I am fueling my body, so I have more energy, strength, and stamina. I am not training for anything at this time and I don’t have the itch to sign up for anything, so again, I am just doing what feels GOOD!

The goal this week is to get in a 9 mile run…LET’S GOOOOO!

POST WORKOUT MEAL

Warm Weather = Cooler Meals, especially after a morning workout! My go-to’s lately have been yogurt bowls, overnight protein oatmeal, and SMOOTHIES! This recipe is perfect after a long run. It is packed with protein, carbs, healthy fats, veggies (you can always sneak them in…LOL), and the added benefits of the Ameo Life Silver Solution is the icing on the cake!

Why do I add it to my smoothies and any other post workout meals?

REALLY good stuff…Don’t forget to use promo code - KATIE25 to get 25% off your order!
